Eat, Drink & Be Merry

The holiday season will be
celebrated in style this year at Gallery 423. Eat, Drink & be Merry is
not only the philosophy for many of us throughout the year; it is also the theme
for the gallery’s annual holiday exhibit. Pretty, creative, extraordinary – but
seemingly not functional. This is what will come to mind when you
see these artists’ works. But, these pieces were created to be used.
In addition to functional
artwork, Eat, Drink & be Merry will provide visitors to the gallery with
a visual treat and wonderful holiday table setting ideas. Created by area
designers such as Ann Forste and Nea Ritz, each “tablescape” will feature a
different theme. Mimicking elaborate “still-lifes”, these table settings will
utilize centerpieces created by the designers, as well as linens, glassware,
unique dinnerware and pieces of art in fun and fabulous ways. Gather ideas for
incorporating handcrafted items to complement your own existing tableware and
accessories to create unforgettable tablescapes. Eat, Drink & be Merry
opens Friday, November 2 with a reception that will be part of the holiday
artwalk – Art, Drink & Be Merry – and continues until December 31.
Featured artists include Julie Cline, Cathy Crain, Hilborn Pottery, Ridgetop
Pottery, and Tygart River Pottery.
